I&S Reflection

I was a creative thinker because, this picture below shows that i put the information that is similar to each other so that people can go through the poster when they are reading it and understand little by little about the problem and how we can help to solve it.  I was also a creative thinker because I was thinking how to place the information on the poster, the picture of the poster shows that.

I was a good collaborator because i put my information about the country i researched about and the information about the country my partner researched about together so that people can understand that different country has different problems but they both have the problem that has to do with water and hot it affects the town.

The difficult thing about this assessment was that it was hard to research about our problem because there wasn’t a lot of websites that talk and explain about this problem and how it effects people. It was also hard to gather information because we didn’t really know what to ask about this problem so then that effected what we researched about.

Concert Performance Reflection

My focus areas was to improve at playing the music on page 3, page 6 and page 2, to be better at crescendo and decrescendo and to move my hand faster to the next string when I play the piece. By practicing at home and at lunch recess I got better at my areas of focus. Several times I listened to how I played by taking a video and then watching it afterwards. I saw and listened to the specific parts I had to improve on. When I was practicing in class I remembered when I had to play quietly or loudly. It was hard sometimes because i forgot what I needed to play next. Then I would stop and listen to the other players, then jump back into where they were playing. I could keep on playing with out making it look like I made a mistake. I was effective in my preparation because I would play the in the air with my hands and imagine the koto was there. That helped me because I could practice what I had to play and where my hands would go. I would ask my friends when we practiced if I was doing things right because sometimes even if you see or listen to your own playing you can’t decide if it is right.  Then I would get some suggestions from my friends and then use them to play better. For example one times I was in class and asked my friend if I am doing this part right but she said no. I was playing the 6th string not the 4th string. I gave suggestions to my friends sometimes to help them too. In class we tuned the koto as fast as we could to practice more. If a student were still tuning when the others were playing that  student would just jump in where they were playing in the piece. That shows that we remember the whole piece and know how it goes. The method I used the most to help me play the koto is to think that the strings are in sets of three. For example, I would remember 13-11 but I would do 10-8 and 8-6 because the composers use the 8th string a lot so I came up with this strategy and it helped me a lot when I played. I should have asked for more help and asked questions so that the other students could have helped me with playing the piece. Next time I would go more often to the ICJC to practice and listen to people around me. This would help me play the piece and match the timing with other people, and I will also help slow them down if we start speeding up. The video below is the performance we did. I think I did pretty well at not showing when I made a mistake. For example, I did not make a surprised, scared or laughing reaction so people did not know when i did something wrong or forgot that part. I think we did better in our practices in class but we speed up at the end of the performance. At the end we got unbalanced so we did not have good timing at the end. I did better then I thought because I was concerned that I was going to forget a lot. I was very nervous and shaky but i remembered a lot of the piece and did really well.

Drama Improv Reflection

What is Improvisation?

in Improvisation you have to accept every offer of idea in a scene. in Improvisation you have to name what character you are, try to explain what the character will do like if you are a dog bark or do something that that type of character will do in real life so people will understand what or who you are.
