## Early human

We made an awesome documentary on an early human. My teammates were Kae, Kohki, Taiyo and me. We worked really hard and tried our best! In the end, we got a good grade and were really proud of it! here is a fun fact. We used to not have Imagination! In the cavemen days, we started building imagination! imagine life with no imagination. Wait. You can’t if you’re a neanderthal!

## Auggie

We read a book about a boy with a disability and we talked and reflected on it. We talked about how it felt and what each word means. After this, we all created a story of a scene with a view of a disabled person. I chose ASD. Here is my story:

Puzzled

I may be different and I may not understand some things but, to you I’m a puzzle that’s impossible to solve but I love puzzles!

## Desighn

We are doing a unit on armor ball. We make some awesome armor than battle in a dodgeball tournament! it sounds fun and easy but it is not. you have to think about how you can impress the crowd! what theme and color? how about the structure? we have to think a lot about these things! what would you do? let me know down in the comments below! (that rhymed!)

## Ciphers

we worked on different types of Ciphers such as:

• simple cipher
• knapsack
• pigpen
• morse code
• caesar shift
• zigzag

My favorite was zigzag because it was unique and challenging.  the one I should work on is morse code (all though it’s very hard). these codes are made to protect important information. give it a go!

## Number Strategy

We learned strategies to get the answer to a problem. My favorite strategy is working backward. his way you understand the steps well and can think clearly. I want to work on graphing it because a lot of times my graphs get messy. what do you want to work on out of these?

• draw a diagram

## Number Thoery

In math, we have learned about prime numbers, exponents, B.E.D.M.A.S, and factors. Prime numbers are numbers that can only be timed by itself or number one. Exponents are things that are shown in an easier way. 2 to the power of 3 is 8 because if you times 2x2x2 it equals 8. B.E.D.M.A.S stands for brackets, exponents, divide, multiply, addition and subtraction. You can use this for an order of operation. factors are what a number is made of. I am pretty good at factors but might need to work on finding prime numbers. I can do this by practicing. you can practice too!

## Who am I ???

Hello, viewers! My name is Phebe but my nickname is Phebster! I am a student at YIS and I am in 6th grade. My hobbies are dancing, designing and playing with my dog Zen! My favorite subjects are design and English! I love other subjects too but these are special to me. I love reading and writing (as you can see). I love creating things and choosing the theme. I hope you have learned a bit about me!

## Tech Day

Today (November 14th), we learned about why and how we use technology. We each got a schedule of classes to go to and what to do there. First, 6th and 5th all went to the auditorium to enter a challenge. The challenge was to try to get our paper airplane to go the farthest. Reiya (my awesome 5th-grade partner) and I (in 6th grade) tried making a paper airplane out of hard paper and regular paper.  We didn’t win but I still had a lot of fun. next, I went to room P104 to do Robotics. We upgraded its’s structure and battled in a game of hockey with our robot, nicknamed as Suzan. we won twice and were so proud. My partner was Kyoka. She was super fun to be with. We worked hard and ate our prize, which was 2 gummy bear packets. This was my favorite activity. My last class was stop motion and I made an awesome stop motion! I wrote the story and was the photographer while Maite (my creative partner) was the sculptor. We created an awesome movie.

At the end of the day, I learned that we use technology to solve problems and get better outcomes. I think it was a very successful day! Thank you, teachers!
