  2. This december, we learned different types of fractions. First, we learned about PROPER fractions. Proper fractions are fractions where the denominator is bigger than the numerator. For example, 3/5. Second, We learned about IMPROPER fractions. Improper fractions are fractions that are basically the opposite of the proper fractions, the numerator is bigger than the denominator. For example 7/5 or 26/7. We also learned what a MIXED number is. A mixed number is a fraction with a whole number. 2 1/3 5 4/6 or 4 1/2 is a mixed number. We learned that an answer to a division problem is a word called, quotient. We can add and subtract with fractions. A LIKE denominator are 2 or more fractions where the denominator are the same. Equivalent fractions are fractions where the value is the same like 1/2 = 2/4 = 3/6 = 6/12.
