19 April 2012: Dinner & a Show

The annual YIS IB Art show is on at BankArt, a local art space. The show is on the way to Green, so we can easily stop by on our way.

Thursday evening  we will have a dinner at our favorite local organic restaurant, Green. We’ve booked out the whole restaurant from 7 – 10 pm. Note: Green is small, so this will be standing-room only (but delicious and fun!). We will meet you in the New Grand Hotel lobby at 6:30 to walk over, for those of you that would like to go together. YIS is sponsoring this dinner.

20 April 2012: Tokyo “Field Trip”

We have reservations for 20 at Gonpachi (well known for inspiring the decor of the restaurant featured in Kill Bill) for 7:30pm! We’ll meet outside the turnstiles in the Marine Tower entrance to Motomachi station at 6:45 to head down to Tokyo together. The cost of the dinner is on you, and you’re more than welcome to stay out in Tokyo afterwards to explore more of the city.

20 April 2012: “A Piece of Zen, Sitting in the Winds of Impermanence”

For those not interested in going to Tokyo, a special event! Our International Center for Japanese Culture regularly hosts Friday night lectures on Japanese culture, and this month’s is our Head of the Board of Directors, Lester Yoshinami-Hitachi, speaking about Zen. Please find out more here (scroll down to find the 20th of April). For those interested, you must register in advance, there is no cost.
