		<description>Hi, I&#039;m a 5th grade teacher at Discovery Charter School in San Jose.  I got a grant last year for 6 clsaorosm iPod touches and Motion Math has been a huge favorite!  I incorporated into my math centers during our fractions unit and it showed great results and very high engagement in learning.  I&#039;m curious as to what other apps you are working on or how we can help with feedback so that you can continue doing what great work you do!  I know the kids have already had requests for higher levels and ways to save where they&#039;re at so that they don&#039;t have to start from scratch every time.Let me know if there is a way to have you visit. Before crafting instructional programs, as educators, we have to craft a cultural environment, one that promotes the notion that technology is not the vehicle that drives instruction, rather, curriculum is the medium, the driving force in the application of technology. it is with this understanding that we can then look through a practical lens and provide an articulated driving license for our teachers to best prepare our students for success in this 21st century. Technology must not be a &#039;contrived&#039; tool. It must be authentic, meaningful and used to enhance and support learning. The culture must embrace digital citizenship one that purports trust , respect and empathy. A quote from Pamela Morehead and Barbara Labeau from an article read on this course...in terms of the curriculum

The above quote is a big one and important for administrators (and teachers) to know.

The gap between who uses and who does not, should not widen. That is the last thing you would want in any school (or workplace for that matter). Unfortunately, there is a backlash at times too. The integrators may be labelled as &#039;show-offs,&#039; or people with too much time on their hands. Teachers need PD to an extent but also need to let go, have a go and experiment. Modelling these &#039;utilities&#039; to staff (and students) may be of greater use than PD.

If PD is offered, invite students to attend. Teach the students and have the teachers observe at the back noting where students struggled, where they succeeded and how they interacted. Using new technologies may be time consuming at first, but save time in the long run. As I further create resources online (wikis, videos, blogs etc), I can later take these anywhere I go. I can invite feedback and expand my Personal Learning Network in ways I couldn&#039;t before.

This feedback motivates me and forces me to really consider what I am creating and posting. I want it to be the best as possible (for that moment in time). To me, that is the best PD I can get.</description>
