Last Friday, we have done a simple game at the Elementary School Assembly. Our aim of this game was to make people be aware of how it is to live with a disability like blindness.
Somethings we did well;
- We were able to fit our game in time
- We chose an appropriate age of kids so that they could answer the question at the end
Things we could improve;
- it might have been better to ask a little bit more questions
- we could have been more organized because we put the notebooks on the floor so only the front row could see them
- we could have done more than just notebooks because it was probably too easy and short
Here are photos of how it looked like;
Thanks For Reading ♡
In our meeting, we brainstormed ideas we could do on the children’s day.
Here is a picture:
bring 2 ideas of what we could do on the children’s day and maybe the children’s day.
Hello we are the Childhood Centre Group.
We came up with several new ideas in today’s meeting which we can make it happen at YIS.
Our idea is to do a festival(?) on the children’s day which is May 5th. We think this will be a great idea because we have enough time to plan, make things, etc. In this project, we hope to be able to
- make something to eat, for example, cupcake, cookies, etc
- have some games related to children. For example quiz
During the vacation on our first meeting of 2016, we have chosen our plan. Our plan is to visit the children with eye sight disabilities. To make this happen, our plan is to meet Ms. Nakagawa on the 14th on January after school. We are hoping we will be able to plan more after the meeting with Ms. Nakagawa.
This week, we were working with enthusiasms(as always). The main thing we did this week was to change our top 1 idea of our project from Larissa. This idea is about playing with the young kids using the play-do. By doing this, we hope that we can make the kids more happy and entertained.
I hope this idea works 🙂
Childhood Center Group
This week, the childhood centre group have been doing research of hospitals. We are thinking to visiting a hospital and give children with heavy illness a present or maybe even few presents as a Christmas present.
For next week, we would like to actually start phone calling the hospitals.
At the start of the year, our group had an aim to raise awareness around the entire school. I think our group has done quite well to achieve that aim but I think there are some places that we will need to improve on.
Overall I think we did a fantastic job on our posters because we put quite a lot of detail about our group and what we are trying to achieve. We also put some useful organisations that people may like to visit to help child cancer, as well as including a couple eye catching photos. There are some places we can improve in, firstly, we could improve on getting our ideas in to real things faster. What we mean by that is that, we could have took more actions. We had great ideas that might actually work but we haven’t actually used them to make the final product. And when we finally did, it seemed too slow and if we did the posters faster we could have gotten more views by a lot of people. Also, another problem was that we sometimes didn’t do what we decided to do. What we mean by that is, at the very end of each meeting our group get’s together and think what we have to do for next time. We perfectly decide what we have to do but, by the next class some of our group members hasn’t done it, making it hard to go on to the next step of our project and it means we have to keep postpone the due date of our project. So if we clear up those problems we can start to put up our project and get more views from the people.
Here is a poster we are currently trying to put up around the school, but this will be after we get approval from Mr. Snowball.
Our group are focusing on Child cancer and stuff and I how it affects people. We planned goals that we think are suitable to be achievable for the end of the semester. The goals are raising awareness and raising money for the Organization we chose. We hope that we can complete this goal by the end of the semester
