Thank you for all your contributions. The funds will go towards construction materials for the school building in Cambodia. See you next year to see if the teachers can make a coin drive comeback. (Ms. Urquhart)

  • Girls Hockey

The girls hockey team came agonizingly close to making the finals at this weekend’s hockey tournament, with a draw against eventual winners ASIJ. Congratulations to the team for a very exciting season with some excellent team performances.
Please congratulate the following players who have been selected to represent the school in a league select team for an upcoming fixture with a local university team: Sophie de Beaufort, Kana Kawanishi, Sarah Piennar, Grace Chung, Maria-Luisa Luedecke. (Mr. Lorimer)

  • HS Athletics/Activities

Incredible week for athletics and activities this past weekend, as YIS was well represented across the events for KANTO and AISA!

HS Girls Field Hockey: The girls hockey team came agonizingly close to making the finals at this weekend’s hockey tournament, with a draw against eventual winners ASIJ. Congratulations to the team for a very exciting season with some excellent team performances. HS Girls Basketball
: The girls basketball team saved their best for AISA, showcasing their best basketball on the biggest stage. The girls finished 4th after a back and forth match against KIS that came down to the final minute of action. Congratulations to Kate Morimoto and Jennifer Lin, for their selection to the All Tournament team.

HS Boys Basketball: Please congratulate all the members of the YIS Dragons on their first ever AISA boys basketball championship!! The boys recovered from their round robin loss to SIS, by beating them in the finals 47-33. Congratulations to Carlo Mosel, Duncan Aronson and Taro Shishikura, for their selection to the All Tournament team.

HS Math: HS Math travelled to Seoul for AISA Math and represented YIS incredibly well, finishing in 3rd place overall. Of course, we would be remiss if we did not congratulate our own Kazuki Doi for taking home the AISA individual competition, in a result that needed to be decided in a tiebreaker! Congratulations Kazuki! –

​Other News and Notes

Official HS Boys/Girls Soccer as well as Badminton tryouts begin the week of February 13th.

HS Boys Soccer– HS boys soccer season begins on today, 6th February. We will be meeting on the turf from 4-6pm, for an informal start to the season.
