MIDDLE & HIGH SCHOOL

  • Filmeisters, Filmmakers and Film Festivals (Repeat)

YIS will host the Kanto Plain Film Festival again this year, in May 2018. Details about the festival will follow, but we encourage students in Middle and High school to practice their filmmaking skills and enter the Festival.
We have also been made aware of a student Shakespeare Film Festival, soliciting student films with a Shakespeare theme, so if your work meets those criteria, your can double your festivities.
Interested filmmakers may have noticed that Filmeisters was not offered in the activities sign-up this season. This is because we are unsure of the format that will be of the most benefit to you and the projects you want to make.
If you are a HS student interested in making a film, or working on a film this year, please come to a meeting in M303 Tuesday at lunch.
If you are a MS student interested in making a film, or working on a film, please come to a meeting in M306 Thursday at lunch.
Based on your interest, we will decide whether or not to run Filmeisters, and what the best format will be to support your filmmaking. (Mr. Pitter)

  • YIS Creative Collective/Magazine Schedule Adjustments

G’morning High school- Yep, you. Wake up!!
Miss Barbour and I noticed that the dates on which our activity is currently registered on interfered with a lot of prior attendees’ other activities.
To respond to these concerns, we have decided that the activity will be moved from day 5 and 10/Friday lunchtimes to day 3 and 9/Wednesday lunchtimes. The meetings will still be held in M305.
We hope this shift will allow us to grow our group and further represent the full spectrum of talented artists here at YIS
Hoping to see you there,
(Audrey Sweeny on behalf of the YIS Creative Collective)

  • HOPE Cambodia Service Group

For any student who tried to sign up for this group and was unable to do so because of an enrolment limit, please try again on Veracross. The student limit has been removed and we welcome any interested students. Please note, students who wish to be considered for the direct service trip in February must sign up and be a committed member of the group. (Ms. Urquhart)
