  • Summer Reading Celebration

The summer reading party will happen this Friday in the library. Please join us for activities and a raffle after you eat your lunch if you turned in a Summer Reading monopoly or BINGO card. (Ms. Katy)

  • Maths Challenge 2017-18

The first of the Maths challenges for this school year is up on the maths notice board. (This is opposite M103, outside Ms. Harding’s room)

These challenges are open to all students and staff.

Please complete this set of challenges by Friday 15th September and hand your answers to Mr. Harrison. (Mr. Harrison)

  • HS reps on the Student Service Committee (SSC) – sign up now on Veracross!

The SSC plays a significant role in shaping service learning at YIS and looks to develop, support, encourage and evaluate effective service experiences for YIS students. Some activities include hosting fundraising events like Live Aid, allocating funds for student service projects and educating the YIS community about why service is important. Students in this group can expect to develop their leadership skills and make a positive difference in our YIS community. Ask Ms. Urquhart if you have questions! (Ms. Urquhart)

Students, please remember that your last date to complete course changes is this Friday, September 8th. Completed course change forms must be submitted to Mr. Redlich before the end of the day on Friday if you would like your request to be considered. (Mr. Redlich)

HS Athletics Team Photos/Uniforms – All teams please know that we will be handing out uniforms today as well as taking our team photos for the year, so please come down to the gym as soon as possible. Tennis teams and JV Girls volleyball remember that you are being released a bit early from class so you can travel in time.

HS Activities– Please remember to sign up for your activities by the end of the day, September 6th. Even if you have already been partaking in a club/activity please make sure you officially sign up. Also, if you have a conflict, remember you need to talk to the teachers, and if they are OK with you doing both please email Mr. Tananone.

All non athletics activities officially begin on Monday, September 11th.

  • First Snow Club meeting on Wednesday September 6th, 1:20PM in M206 (Repeat)

The meeting is open to anyone who has signed-up for the club on Veracross, as well as people who are still undecided and would like to obtain more information.
