Please be reminded that when we pay for a set lunch in the cafeteria it is for one person only and not for sharing with our friends. There is no limit to the quantity of food in the set lunch and this system relies on us all being honest. (Ms. Vitty)
- Early dismissal
Tomorrow (Tuesday 12th Sept) MS and HS classes will finish at 3:20pm as teachers have an extended professional development session. Activities will start at 3:30pm and finish at 5:30pm when there is early dismissal. There are several dates during the academic year when classes finish early for staff development and these can be found on the calendar. (Ms. Vitty)
- Cross Country Running
Congratulations to the 37 student who represented YIS on Saturday. Their effort was an inspiration to all. Special congratulation to
Waka Fujiwara who came 13th out of 100 MS girl runners
Elvinas Jonauskas who was 25th out of 149 MS boys
Momo Oshiba who was 32nd out of 78 HS varsity runners
and William Hannah who ran a PB of 17 minutes 40 seconds for the 4.4 km boys varsity race coming 39th out of 95.

- Maths Challenge #1 Update 2017-18
MORE copies of the first Maths challenges for this school year is up on the maths notice board. Thanks for your patience, if you tried to get one and they were not there (This is opposite M103, outside Ms. Harding’s room)
These challenges are open to all students and staff.

- Support the PTSA
If you are still looking to fulfill your CAS requirements and have an interest in supporting the PTSA, you may want to consider participating in the PTSA CAS Project!
Open to Grade 11 & 12, students signing up will help out with PTSA events and activities on a long term/regular basis as a way of fulfilling their CAS requirements.
Some examples of PTSA events and activities that students would be involved in are:
– Babysitting at various PTSA events (like the BBQ Fiesta on Sat. Sept. 23):
– Food Fair (Nov 5) – Set up, clean up, selling raffle/tombola tickets after school etc
– Headmaster’s Quiz (April) – Planning, set up etc:
– Bingo Night (Jan) – Planning, set up etc.
