  • CHT Bazaar announcement

Good morning everyone,

On the 25th of January 2018, the Combating Human Trafficking group will be holding a Bazaar in the canteen from 3-5. This will be an event where people have the opportunity to sell any kinds of goods they would like. For example, bags, jewelry, second-hand good, ice blocks, ect. This could also be service groups looking to fundraise for their group. We just ask that all participants donate some of their profits back to the CHT group as this is a fundraising event. We are also looking for anyone who would like to perform during the event. We would like to stress that this event is open to anyone and everyone from the YIS community.

If you would like to sell during the event please sign up using the following survey
If you would like to perform at the event please sign up using this link

If you have any questions please feel free to email Sam Coutts.

Thank you! (Sam)

  • Giving Tree Donations Drive (Repeat)

Hey everyone!

As we did last year, the Sanagitachi and HOPE Cambodia service groups will be running the Giving Tree Donations drive over the next two weeks leading into Christmas break, starting Monday the 4th until Friday the 15th.

We urge everyone in the school community to go to one of the trees (either in the foyer or in the elementary area above the canteen), take a tag and bring in the item listed on the tag or any other donations before winter break.

Your support is greatly appreciated and will make a big difference to people receiving your donations. We hope everyone has a wonderful last couple of weeks of school and gets into the Christmas spirit of giving! (Sanagitachi)

  • HS Book of the Day

Ms. Katy has been saying for years that gender is a social construct, but don’t believe her! Read Cordelia Fine’s “irreverent and important book”, which intelligently argues the point. #hsbookoftheday #yislearning (Ms. Katy)

Come to L204 (Sra. Hill’s room) at lunch on FRIDAY, Dec 8th for a short, informal presentation on three different strategies to improve your pitch. See Mia if you have any questions. See you Friday, music fans! (Mia G10)
