  • Thank you for Second Harvest participation

Thank you!
Thank you for your support with the “adopt a family” food drive. We sent second harvest boxes for 21 families!

If anyone wants to know more about Second Harvest please ask me or check out their website. There are different ways of supporting them with your time by actually going to the second harvest and doing activities like packing boxes or helping the cook in their kitchen.

Thank you again for all of your support and I am hoping that we will do this in the future. (Hana Chapman 10M)

  • CHT Bazaar announcement (Repeat)

Good morning everyone,

On the 25th of January 2018, the Combating Human Trafficking group will be holding a Bazaar in the canteen from 3-5. This will be an event where people have the opportunity to sell any kinds of goods they would like. For example, bags, jewelry, second-hand good, ice blocks, ect. This could also be service groups looking to fundraise for their group. We just ask that all participants donate some of their profits back to the CHT group as this is a fundraising event. We are also looking for anyone who would like to perform during the event. We would like to stress that this event is open to anyone and everyone from the YIS community.

If you would like to sell during the event please sign up using the following survey
If you would like to perform at the event please sign up using this link

If you have any questions please feel free to email Sam Coutts.

Thank you! (Sam)

  • Culture Day

Good morning everyone!

Today is Culture Day! We’re excited to see all of you representing your home country! In order to see the diverse community YIS has, your task for today is to take pictures with as many different cultures as you can and post them on the shared story on Snapchat!! The person/group with the most multicultural picture will win a prize!!

Remember, tomorrow is Character Day! Be sure to dress up as your favourite character!

  • HS Book of the Day

One of the best ways to learn about a culture (other than to live in it) is to read its literature. Today, choose a book written by an author from a culture different from your own. #hsbookoftheday #yislearning #spiritweek #cultureday (Ms. Katy)
