  • Civil Protection Warning System Test Today

Today at 11 am the Kanagawa prefectural government will be testing the J-Alert civil protection warning system, which might be used in case of threats to public safety. Public loudspeakers will announce the test and sirens will be sounded. People with emergency warning system apps on their phones may also receive an alert at this time. Again, this is just a test of the system.

We will not be practicing any drill at this time. But for your reference, should you hear the sirens in the future the advice is as follows:

If you are outside, seek immediate shelter in the nearest building or underground facility.
If indoors, move away from windows and exterior walls. Assume earthquake safety positions.

Again, we will not be practicing any drill today; please go directly to your period 3 class after the morning break. (Mr Pomeroy)

  • Gr. 12 TOK P0 tomorrow – no class

Dear G12 students,

With the submission of your TOK essay yesterday, we are in a position to take your P0 (Day 9) classes for TOK off your schedules. This will give everyone an extra bit of time to rest in the mornings.

Effective tomorrow, you should come into school at the regular time of 9:00am sharp and report to your tutor room for attendance and notices.

For at least the next week, you will continue to have TOK during the day (Day 4 and Day 7) until all TOK teachers are satisfied that all the documentation is complete and has been uploaded to the IB Coursework site. Once this is done, these classes will become supervised study halls with a specified location which your TOK teachers will share with you.

Please let me know if there are any questions. (Mr. Redlich)
