MIDDLE & HIGH SCHOOL

  • MS & HS Period 5 & Lunch

The Library will be quite full today, so during period 5 and lunch will be quiet working/reading sessions. Collaborative group study/party people/marble run makers will need to be outside today. 🎉📚

The library will close at 4:30 today. (Ms. Katy)

  • Earphones Found

Black earphones (for iPhone?) were found. Please collect them at the Secondary School Office. (Ms. Shiina)

  • Veggie Drive (Repeat)

Good morning dragons!
We are from the Chiku Center advocacy group and just want to let you know that we will be running a veggie drive from February 12th to February 16th. This time of year it is very challenging for people living at or below the poverty line in Yokohama to remain healthy. Your donations of fresh vegetables can help fight off serious illness!

From Feb 12th-16th there will be green bins in the main lobby (foyer) and you can carefully place your veggie donations there. The Chiku Center particularly needs nice and fresh veggies that won’t rot quickly. We will come to your classrooms between February 5th and 6th to share more information.

Thank you! (Chiku Advocacy Group)

MIDDLE SCHOOL ONLY

  • ISA Trial Tests

Just a reminder that Grades 6-8 have the ISA trial this morning. This will take place in your regular period one and two sessions, though the test will only take 45-50 minutes. You will be doing the Mathematical Literacy for the trial and it won’t be scored. You don’t need to study to prepare for these
tests, but you do need to:

– make sure your laptop is charged
– bring scrap paper, a pencil, ruler and eraser
– you will be using Safari, not Chrome

Please note these room changes:

Mr Reed’s Gr6 Art class – go to M208
Mr Ralph’s Gr6 PE class – go to M101
Mr Murray’s Gr7 PE class – go to M201
Ms Macdonald’s Gr7 Drama class – go to M205
Ms Clark’s Gr8 PE class – go to M203

(Ms. Vitty)

  • Playing in the Cafeteria

A reminder that you are not to be unsupervised in the cafeteria playing games before or after school. Also, you need to remember that our school has younger students who do not need to see your violent video games or hear you yell your frustrations with mature language. Please remember school expectations and our values when playing (computer games and face-to-face) at school. (Ms. Madrid)

  • MS Book of the Day

If there was a surgery to grow your potential intelligence beyond that of any living human, would you do it? That’s what happens to Charlie Gordon, a mentally disabled man who works in a bakery. Recommended by our Charlie in G8, it’ll break your heart #msbookoftheday #yislearning (Ms. Katy)
