  • Kanto Plain Film Festival

The Kanto Plain Film Festival Screening is this Saturday 19th May in the YIS Auditorium. The Screening begins at 10am, with the Filmmaker & Judges panel and presentation of awards beginning at 1:15pm. Almost 40 films were entered in this year’s festival. Check out the entries in. Come out and see the entries in Dramatic Fiction, Comedic Fiction, Non-Fiction, Expressive Film and the Height of Hart’s (for collaborations between studentchers), and support YIS filmmakers and performers, including Justin Cheetham, Kent Ishikawa, Sarah Gunanto and Rei Ishii.
It’s a full day of film, so bring a lunch or order one in advance from the Film Festival website, where all the details of the Festival Screening can be found. See you Saturday in the Auditorium. (Mr. Pitter)

  • Mental Health Awareness Week

Good morning! This is MEHC (Mental and Emotional Health Club) back at it again with a daily fact. Today’s daily fact is that: even very young children may show early warning signs of mental health concerns. These mental health problems are often clinically diagnosable, and can be a product of the interaction of biological, psychological, and social factors. (MEHC)

  • EPIC ARTS Countdown: 8 School Days!

A performing arts group from Epic Arts in Cambodia will be coming to visit YIS starting on May 28th! This performance group is extra special because some members are deaf, others are in a wheelchair and some are differently abled either physically and mentally.

  • MS Scavenger Hunt (Sports Week)

Calling All MS Dragons!

Whilst on an expedition, Smokey lost some of his things in the school! Now Smokey needs your help! Look for lost objects around the language building, kirin building, and playground/cafeteria! Participants, keep your eyes sharp, and good luck!

  • MS Break & Lunch in the Library

Unfortunately, because of the art show, two classes and one librarian (Ms. Kar is out today) the library will be closed to middle school students during lunch today. (Ms. Katy)
