MIDDLE & HIGH SCHOOL

  • Dress code

As the weather gets warmer and we start switching to our summer clothes, this is a reminder about the dress code. Everyone is expected to be modestly dressed in a manner which is appropriate for a school environment. This may be different to what you wear outside of school or at the weekends. Specifically, please be reminded that midriffs need to be covered, footwear sensible and safe in case of an evacuation, and shoulders must be covered (no singlets, spaghetti straps, strapless tops). • Kanto Plain Film Festival

Come out and see the entries in Dramatic Fiction, Comedic Fiction, Non-Fiction, Expressive Film and the Height of Hart’s (for collaborations between studentchers), and support YIS filmmakers and performers, including Justin Cheetham, Kent Ishikawa, Sarah Gunanto and Rei Ishii.

HIGH SCHOOL ONLY

  • EPIC ARTS Countdown: 7 School Days!

What does Epic Arts do?
In addition to having a performance group, Epic Arts also hosts arts education classes for people in Cambodia to empower people that are differently abled. They also have a cafe in Cambodia that employs people who would have a hard time finding work otherwise. Epic Arts promotes the idea of seeing ability and not disabilities through education and performances in Cambodia. Their mission is to teach people that “Every person counts”.

Student volunteers are needed to help make the Epic Arts visit to YIS smooth. If you are interested in being involved, please come to a 15-minute volunteer meeting during morning break on Monday, May 21st in M301 to find out how you can help. (Ms. Urquhart)
