  • Laptop Collection – Grade 6 to 9 – June 12

This is a reminder that we will collect laptops and chargers from all Grade 6, 7, 8 and 9 students on June 12th. Please remember to bring both your laptop AND charger that day. The collection will take place in the morning.

Your computers will be wiped out over the summer, so if you have any data you would like to keep, please make sure you back it up by moving it to your Google Drive account or a USB hard drive or stick. If you need help backing up any files, please let us know.

  • Cross country running

Well done for those students who came out for the pre-season running. Due to some after school events, there will be no other practices this year. Please make good efforts to do some runs over the summer so we can start well after the break. (The coaches)

  • Classes moved from science labs on Wednesday afternoon and Friday morning

In order to accommodate the grade 11 science project this week, some classes will meet in different rooms on Wednesday and Friday.

Here is the schedule, please check for your lesson and the new meeting room carefully. If your class is not listed, go to the regular room please.

  • Final Call Middle/High School Food Fair Poster competition (Repeat)

All designs must be placed in the box in the Main Office by this Friday 8th June. The winning designer will receive a 2000 Yen gift card.

(The poster must:
-Include the phrase “YIS Food Fair 2018”
-Be A4 portrait with solid background (white if hand-drawn)
-Be digital (PSD photoshop, 300 dpi) or hand-drawn.
-Use the entire sheet as background.
-Have no fine details or too many small elements.)

The Animal Relief Club is hosting a vegan baking session and hopes to see you there.
It will be on Tuesday 12th of June from 4:15 in the canteen, so if interested sign up quick because we only have 20 available spaces!

  • ANNUAL HOOPS for HOPE 3 on 3 basketball tournament (Repeat)

Hi everyone!

Hope is organising the first ANNUAL HOOPS for HOPE 3 on 3 basketball tournament on Friday June 8th at the gym from 16:15. The tournament is open to all Grade 8 – 12 students as well as teachers.
We would love to see you play at the tournament so please sign up here! The deadlines for sign ups are Thursday June 7th at 9 AM.

The cost is 200 yen per person. There will also be a concession stand with food and drink available to help raise money for the Animal Relief Club.

The rules are simple:
1. 3 on 3 games (5 minute games)
2. up to two varsity basketball members a team
4. A Max of 5 people on each team if you would like subs
5. There will be separate boys and girls team tournaments but if you would like to have a coed team that is fine. The coed team will play in the boys tournament.

Winning teams will receive a trophy and bragging rights for being the Champs of the first ever Hoops for Hope tournament.

Open Gym after school for Boys and Girls Volleyball continues Thursday the 7th of June after school, and is open to all MS boys and girls interested in playing. You do not have to have been on one of the teams last year to partake. (Mr. Tananone)
