Golding’s View of Humanity

15th November.  You now have finished your anaylsis of the final chapters of ‘Lord of the Flies’ and we have watched and discussed the film.  On Thursday, we will draw our final conclusions about the themes, characters and the language and style of the novel and begin to prepare our next written assignment.

Written Task

‘King Lear’

15th November.  For our lesson tomorrow, you should have prepared to the end of Act III in detail.  Be prepared to comment on characters, themes, motifs and language.  We will also watch Act II on DVD and study dramatic effect and the ways in which the tension is varied.

11th November.  Hwk.  Essay on Naledi’s characteristics.  Write the introduction and the first two paragraphs of the body of the essay using your notes based on our discussion and planning in class.  Bring what you write to class on Monday.   Remember, characteristics must be supported by evidence from the novel.
