Elementary Cross Country 2012

On 13th November, 2012, Grade 3-5 Elementary students participated in the YIS Cross Country Day at Negishi Park. The weather was perfect for the 1km run around the park, with most students choosing to complete the 2 lap race as part of their goals in P.E.

The event was well organized and all went smoothly to plan. Check out the Cross Country post on the P.E. Blog for details.

There were many parents on hand to cheer and support their child, with some parents and teachers even joining in a race! Thank you to the P.E. department for their preparation and teamwork to create a memorable outdoor experience for the Gr3-5 students!

Get ready for Cross Country Day

YIS Cross Country Running Day at Negishi Park is on Thursday November 10th, 2011. Grade 3-5 students will depart from school at 8:30am to arrive at Negishi Park 8:45am.  Return to YIS will be for 10:45am.

The students have been working hard in their physical education classes to attain their goals and this is a great opportunity to see them in action. There is a special fundraiser for a YIS initiative called “Kizuna Connections through Sports”. Teachers and parents can participate in the fundraising by purchasing a specially designed running shirt and by running in the Cross Country “All Comers Race” where entry is 2000 yen cost.
