Genre: Comedy/ science fiction
Technique: Darkness giving it a boring environment. While walls also making it boring. You can also tell that the character doesn’t like his job, It is in an office. Sound effects like the sound when he puts his hand through the black hole. Also the beep in the background. Discovery of black hole puts excitement into story.
Theme: Don’t get greedy. And make sure that if you have something special use it wisely, carefully and safely. Better safe than sorry.

1. We think its realistic but its got an element of magical realism. The office is a really realistic setting, but the black hole on the sheet of paper is not realistic. It is more like a fantasy. So we think it is a magical realism.
2. They use computer sounds and sounds which occurs in the office. Also, his face changes from a normal office man, to a guilty person.
3. We think the character turned guilty, so he didn’t plan anything before he enters the money storage place. I think the director wants us to learn about planning before you do anything.
We think that this story would be a realistic fiction because the character himself is just like a normal stressed office work. Yet then he finds this strange black hole which would never happen in real life. Then there’s this feeling that something bad will happen as soon as the black hole appears. The way the film-maker dose this is by the sound effects he uses.

WHAT IS THE GENRE?
I think that the genre is science fiction with a hint of horror, at the beginning when his hand just goes through the black hole, i thought that this video would end up as a horror movie because of the mysterious music and the squelching sound as his hand dissolves into the black hole.
WHAT TECHNIQUES DOES THE FILM-MAKER USE…..
I think that the film-maker did a very good job at making the beginning look very realistic because of the setting (in an office) and the tired looking man. You can see from the back that it is 3:00 but it doent tell you weather it is the morning or the afternoon, but you can tell from the mans posture and his rolled up sleeves that it is the morning. If it was the afternoon I am sure the office would be packed with people. The beeping sounds in the background make you feel uneasy and as if something bad and strange is going to happen. ;(
WHAT DO YOU THINK THE THEMES ARE OF THIS SHORT FILM.
I think that the main theme is not to be greedy and if the man had been more careful and stuck the black hole more securely onto the safe he would not have been sucked into the black hole…..

Genre: Magical realism ( fantasy but very realistic )
Theme: Business man doing his work at 3 am (overwork) but a strange black hole appears and changes the way the guy thinks.
What are the techniques the film-maker uses + why?
The story in based in a normal office. Normal guy, but abnormal black hole on paper. The film-maker used fantasy in some parts, such as the black hole. The film-maker shows a typical business man’s thoughts ( e.g stealing food and money) Music is very mysterious, so we sense that someone thing might happen.
