G3 Japanese Native Class will work on below.

– Inquire into the language use in advertisement article writing as a part of their inquiry into economy.

– Practice writing a report on cause and effect on finance.

– Learning level appropriate Kanji related to the topics; economy and fiction stories.

– Working on independent reading skills using “100 satsu dokusho nikki”.

Students will continue having Home Learning tasks every Monday for 30 min. Thank you for your support at home to be prompt on using time. It helps students to learn how long 30 min is.

Japanese classes are canceled on Day 6 Thursday 2nd March & Day 8 Monday 6th March due to HS/MS PTSC. G3 students should continue with their independent reading as their home learning and submit their reading record, 100 satsu dokusho nikki on Day 9 Tuesday 7th March in class.

The picture is the list of recommended books the students read. They colour the letters that the titles start with. The colours represents the IB Lerner Profiles students identified in the books. Its been excellent to see students become enthusiastic readers!

Students should write about the below topic, and submit it on Day 9 Tuesday 21st February.

意見文「もったいないこと」

「じぶんやほかの人がしているもったいないこと(2つ)」

どうして、なにを、だれがしているのかせつめいしてください。

そしてどうしたらいいのか、アドバイスも書いてください。

いけん文って何かな。何を書く文かな。だんらくをいくつ作ろうかな。習った漢字を使えるかな。

Students are expected to complete independent reading and work on “100satsu dokusho nikki”. All students have a bookmark in their “100satsu dokusho nikki” with some points they can consider about their books. Please use them to give feedback on the books.

They contain questions to help students start thinking about the books they read at a deeper level to start analysing fiction stories.

Submit their work on Day 3 Monday 13th Feb.

Students are expected to spend 30 min max to write a short story with snow. It can be in setting, character, or any part of the story. Think about what a good story should have.

Brain Frame the story (sequence) for 5 min before you start writing, so that you know what will happen in each scenes.

Submit your work on Day 10 Friday 3rd Feb.

かみしばいはどんなものですか。かみしばいを見たことがない人にもわかるように、形や使い方をくわしくせつめいしてください。どうやって使うと上手に楽しく使うことができますか。だんらくと漢字を使って書いてください。

G3 Japanese Native Class will work on below.

– Inquire into how speed, volume and pitch of your voice can be used to express feelings in a story when performing dramatic reading using a selection of ‘kamishibai’ and other written stories.

– Practice writing a report their opinion on their inquiry on recycling and waste.

– Learning level appropriate kanji related to the topics; Story telling performance and Waste. (handouts)

– Working on independent reading skills using “100 satsu dokusho nikki”.

Students will continue having Home Learning tasks every Monday for 30 min. Thank you for your support at home to be prompt on using time. It helps students to learn how long 30 min is.

Students should complete a writing task on below topic and submit it on Day 9 Thursday 14th October.

「ぼうけんは何ですか。あなたがぼうけんしたときのことを説明してください。いつ、どこへ、何をしに行きましたか。あなたはどんな気もちになりましたか。だんらくを使って、くわしく書いてください。

30 min maximum.

 

I had some request on front loading information of writing topics. Here are the topics for November Home Learning writing tasks. They are all assigned on Day 8, and due on Day 9.

Thursday 3rd November

「楽しかったあき休み」

秋休みはどうでしたか。だれと、何をしましたか。したいことは何でしたか。どんな気もちになりましたか。学校がはじまって、どんな気もちですか。

Friday 18th November

「たんけんに行くじゅんびのしかた」

たんけんに行く前に何をしなければいけませんか。「はじめに」「そして」「それから」「さいごに」などのことばを使って、くわしくせつめい文を書いてください。

Students should spend 30 min on their reading and recording it in 100satsu dokusho nikki. Complete it and submit the work on Day 3 Thursday 6th October.

Students borrowed some Japanese books at school library on Day 8. They can read non library books in this session, if they like.
