[Hiragana/Katakana] We are going to review both hiragana/katakana. Please encourage students to read Japanese when they are in outside of school. [Events in Japan] In Japanese class, we are going to learn Japanese culture as well. In May, we are going to learn about Children’s day.
Shopping at supermarketPYP UNIT / How we organize ourselves
G3 students are working on the central idea ‘The exchange of goods and servies affect people’s lives’. Tanpopo class decided to cook Onigiri. Students researched all the ingredients and went to a super market near school to buy them. At the supermarket, students had many opportunities to use Japanese phrases which they learnt in the class. Students became more confident by speaking in Japanese. Well done!

There won’t be regular Katakana practice this week since we are going to make Onigiri this Friday. However, you can review Katakana in your notebook and show it to Sensei. In Japanese class, we are going to learn Japanese culture as well. In March, we are going to learn about Hinamatsuri day.
Please encourage your child to use Japanese and read Hiragana and Katakana outside of the classroom. Also, please tell them to record what they said in Japanese logbook.
