1. Work on Painless Japanese p.40 Kya Kyu Kyo and p.41 Gya Gyu Gyo. 

2. Practice  first 10 ‘House’ words from the worksheet. Write them in the green notebook.

2. Study ‘taste’ vocabulary by writing them in green notebook in Japanese.

In May and June, we are going to study:

-Ask/answer to express likes/dislike

-Describe food and drinks

-Describe actions

[House and Home]

-Udebtify furniture

-Identify objects found in rooms

-Describe objects using adjectives

[Hiragana/Katakana]

We are going to review both hiragana/katakana.

Please encourage students to read Japanese when they are in outside of school.

PYP UNIT  / How we organize ourselves 

G3 students are working on the central idea ‘The exchange of goods and servies affect people’s lives’. Tanpopo class decided to cook Onigiri. Students researched all the ingredients and went to a super market near school to buy them. At the supermarket, students had many opportunities to use Japanese phrases  which they learnt in the class. Students became more  confident by speaking in Japanese. Well done! 

1. Share your Onigiri making experience to your family and be ready to write reflections on Monday.

There won’t be regular Katakana practice this week since we are going to make Onigiri this Friday.

However, you can review Katakana in your notebook and show it to Sensei.

1. Practice Ra, Ri, Ru, Re and Ro in Painless Japanese.

2. Write down days of the week in Japanese. You can try Kanji version as well.

3. Study for Quiz. (Ra line and days of the week)

1. Practice Ya, Yu, Yo on painless Japanese.

2. Work on p.28 and memorize Ryouri and Ryokou.

3. Ready for quiz!

2. Work on p.27 and memorize Myaku, and Myouji

In the class, we are learning study Katakana. Katakana practice is their homework every Friday. Students will take a quiz in a following Japanese lesson.

In Japanese class, we are going to learn Japanese culture as well.

In March, we are going to learn about Hinamatsuri day.

Please encourage your child to use Japanese and read Hiragana and Katakana outside of the classroom. Also, please tell them to record what they said in Japanese logbook.
