In Japan, we celebrate “Kodomo no hi (Children’s day)” on May 5th.  On this day, we wish our children to grow healthy.

Homework

Students will have Japanese Homework on every Monday. They need to bring them back on Wednesday and give them to a teacher at the beginning of the class.

Hiragana and Katakana will be introduced to students through out the year and homework will be mainly practicing the alphabet and review work from the topics they work in class.

The weekly homework will be announced in this blog every Monday as well as homework is going to be announced to the students on every Monday during Japanese class.

Hiragana / Katakana Quiz

On every Wednesday, students are going to have hiragana/katakana quiz.  I appreciate if you could encourage your child to practice the alphabet.

Logbook

Your child got his/her own logbook.  Please take a look at it and encourage them to use Japanese as much as possible outside of classroom. Also, please help your child fill in his or her address and phone number. This information is in the second page of the logbook and will be used for practicing emergency Japanese.

In Gr.4 Kujira class, students practiced using “koko(here)”, “soko(there)”, and “asoko(over there)” .

They used the words to introduce the rooms and places in school.

1) Finish Making the poster (Coloring)

2) Practice and memorize your poster.
