Who We Are and What We Do

The earth is our home, it houses you and all of us, and so it is our responsibility to look after, take care of it, and help it in any way we can.  This is what the Environment subgroup of Global Issues Network (GIN) focuses on. We do not just advertize and bring awareness to problems around the world but physically and actively try to help environmental issues. This group mainly centers on helping locally, like the cemetery across YIS, but we also try to be of service concerning environmental problems on a more larger scale, like when we hosted Ocean’s Day.

The important thing to note about the Environment group is we act! We do not just sit and talk, because talking will get you no where. We research, discuss, inquire then take action. We collaborate and work as  a team, encouraging each other and consistently engaging and putting effort equally.

Our planet is beautiful, just remember that, everything you see is part of the environment so respect it.

This is the Environment Group and THIS is what we do! 🙂

Thanks for this post as it reflects exactly the aims of the service programme we have at YIS and are trying to develop further. Action is the most important piece in any service programme as it is through our actions that we truly learn and give back.

It was a pleasure to read this post as it so clearly articulated your commitment to your chosen area of concern. You also reflected the importance of both local action and global awareness and/or action. I hope many of you will be interested in joining the Service Committee that YIS will be advertising at you upcoming GIN Meetings.
