You’ll be able to pay securely online by credit or debit card and the books will arrive to your child’s classroom.

How to order online

Visit http://world.clubs-school.scholastic.co.uk/yokohama-international. The link takes you directly to the YIS school group order; you do not need to navigate to find it. You will be asked to enter your email address to register.
Select the books that you’d like to order and add them to your basket.
Checkout and choose the ‘school delivery’ option. Enter your child’s name and class so we can deliver directly to the classroom.

Please note, a 3% administration fee is added at checkout to cover customs and extra delivery costs.

If you’d like to buy any books from the Book Club catalogue please complete your online order by February 8.

What is Digital Citizenship?
Digital Citizenship is a concept which helps teachers, technology leaders and parents to understand what students/children/technology users should know to use technology appropriately. Digital Citizenship is more than just a teaching tool; it is a way to prepare students/technology users for a society full of technology. Digital citizenship is the norms of appropriate, responsible technology use. Too often we are seeing students as well as adults misusing and abusing technology but not sure what to do. The issue is more than what the users do not know but what is considered appropriate technology usage.

On Monday, 5G thought about Balance and considered how it feels to spend too much time online…

On Monday February 11th 2013 Loft 1:30pm-3:00pm our Elementary Mathematics Coordinator David Goddard will be holding a classroom-style exposition for all Elementary parents together with his students from Grade 5.
Come along to take part in activities that are typical of a modern, inquiry-driven Mathematics classroom. During the activities, Mr. Goddard will give an overview of the Mathematic concepts involved in the activities and how they develop Mathematics skills and understanding.
There will be a chance to experience lots of hands on activities and to see for yourselves how challenging and enjoyable Mathematics lessons are at YIS.

They are inspirational, professional, creative, thought-provoking, touching, well-written, emotional, interesting and convincing. The students have worked so hard to make these personal declarations of their core beliefs. Each has been through many edits and rewrites, each word has been sweated over and carefully chosen to express their author’s key values.

Michael is a specialist mathematics consultant from Melbourne, Australia. He is involved in many professional development programs in schools across Australia and Asia.

After the success of last year’s well attended, informative, and fun parent workshop, Michael Ymer is back again to help parents understand the role of Mathematics in our everyday lives. He will also focus on helping parents in understanding the way Mathematics is taught in schools. He will, with true Australian humor and poise, help us uncover what inquiry is, how inquiry can help us all become better mathematicians and how parents can help their children to be natural mathematical inquirers at home.
