  • GIN – Somaly Mam Foundation (Repeat)

Dear Middle and High school students, teachers and the rest of the YIS community,

The Somaly Mam Foundation group within GIN raised 25,770 yen last weekend before, during and after the HS production. A big thank you to everyone who helped us raise this amount of money. In short, the Somaly Mam Foundation is a non-profit organisation created to end female prostitution/slavery and is dedicated to empower its survivors. This organisation is based in South East Asia. The purpose of current fundraising is to give the foundation a donation, if a speaker from the organisation should come to Japan and visit YIS in the Spring.

Below is a short video we made to raise awareness of human trafficking and to highlight what the Somaly Mam Foundation is and what their aims are. Tutors: please play this video during at least one homeroom time this week. Thank you.
