This Friday YIS marks Oceans Day by exploring issues related to our oceans. High School Global Issues students are running activities to get you thinking.
Below is the schedule for Oceans Day on Friday. Please scroll across to see full schedule! All students: you are in tutor groups for each activity. Please check your rooms and times. Teachers: please check the shared Google doc. for student supervision times.
High School have activities in the morning. Go to your period 1 room at 9.10 then head to your first activity.
Middle school have activities in the afternoon. Go to your period 6 room at 1.15 then head to your first activity.

- Literary Magazine – FINAL MEETING (Repeat)
There will be a meeting for all members of the literary magazine team at 8.15 am on Friday, 24th May, in M307. This will be our final meeting. Anyone who cannot attend this meeting, please see Ms de Vries without fail. (Ms de Vries)

The Cakery brings to you a well deserved treat for those last days at school. What better way to remorse than with mouth-watering baked goods made with love. The Cakery will be selling Red Velvet Cupcakes, Brownies, Chocolate balls, and Chocolate Vanilla Cupcakes that will make you tastebuds tango. - Grade 6 and Grade 9 Laptop Return (Repeat)
Grade 6 and Grade 9 will be returning their laptops to the IT Office on Friday June 14th.
Before you return your laptop you must back up any data you would like to keep – using a USB stick or an external hard drive. All data on your computer will be deleted during the summer and your new computer will not have any of your old data.
Note: Your Backblaze account will also be terminated (you will create a new one next year), so if you plan to purchase a backup hard drive from Backblaze you need to do it before you return your computer this month. You will not be able to use Backblaze to download your files in August.

June 11th,Tuesday is sports day. In case it looks like a high chance of rain, we will let you know about the cancellation on the school website early in the morning.
Remember to check your team list on the 2nd floor of the main building and come prepared for your sport and house color.
Please also remember to
• Bring your water bottle and snack
You can drink only water on the turf and in the gym.
You are not allowed to eat on the turf or in the gym.
• Prepare for both hot and cold weather (Hat, jacket and sun screen)
Some important times are as follows:
9:00 Tutor Attendance in regular classrooms
Come down to the gym after attendance.
Soccer players get on the buses at the gym. Don’t miss the buses!
9:20 Buses will leave for YCAC
9:30 Games will commence on the Turf/ in the Gym
9:45 Games will commence at YCAC
12:35 Lunch and normal classes resume for the rest of the day.
