Part 2 of the CSR project: Plan an Action or Awareness Project

CE, Building a Racial State handout, Hitler and the Master Race video clips, Pledging Allegiance handout.  HW: pgs 21-32 Roads to War , and write out answers to the reading quiz pgs. 1-32 that has been sent to you.

Leaders Source Based Question Project:  you should have your five sources labeled by CAPITAL LETTERS A-E, and now should be finishing up your 3 questions and moving onto formulating your markschemes and writing your own TSC for the project.

Attention all juniors thinking about doing CAS over the summer:  You must send Ms. Jungnitsch an email  jungnitschm@yis.ac.jp by this weekend to let her know of your plans so that she can get feedback to you before you leave for the summer break. We want to make sure you have projects that count for CAS, so get them preapproved.

Final CAS meetings for juniors were yesterday, if you still haven’t received approval on all your activities please once again look at the samples and remember that you need: a clear overview, goals or aims of the activity, personal goal(s), supervisor’s full name and contact information, and identify learning outcomes addressed.

CE, handout examples of the Final Film Project using Schindler’s List to explain the Liquidation of the Krakow ghetto.  You will work in groups of three on any 20th century event in history that has been documented in a film or television series by showing one clip of no more than 8 minutes long to the class following the three specific sections on the example.  Be sure to include a Works Cited and parenthetical citation for the background information, but remember encyclopedic sources such as Wikipedia are not acceptable.  We’ll start presentations next class.

Grade 11:  I will be meeting with all of you individually before the end of the school year to track your progress in all three areas of CAS and to talk about your plans for your senior year to show a sustained level of commitment to the program.  If you have not received approval on Managebac for the activities that you have posted it is probably because your overview contains information that needs to be in the reflection.  Nothing personal about you or what you did goes in the overview.  Remember in your overview you need a brief explanation of the activity and its goals or aims, along with your personal goals.  Please look at the samples again if you need clarification.  Name and contact information for the supervisor of the activity and the learning outcomes that you will be addressing should also be included.
