The exam will be two parts (120 min.)
1) Paper 1 (Reading comprehension) 30 min.
2) Paper 2 (Writing) 90 min.
Complete the worksheet (Talking about your home town). You must turn it in at the begging of the lesson on Friday. You will get it back on Monday, so you have some time to revise for the summative assessment coming on next Friday, May 31st.

Task: Write a school newspaper article about earthquake in Japan
In the content, you must write the followings
☆ Mention about earthquake in Japan
☆ Give some advices to prepare the earthquake
☆ Tell what we need to do while and immediately after the earthquake
☆ Your opinion (School Newspaper, you must mention of your opinion)
Since this is the newspaper article, you must also write:
Title (something catchy), date, and your name
Words: 500-800 characters
Assessment Criteria: (A Language, B Message, C Format)
During this exam, you are NOT ALLOWED to dictionaries or notes.

Work on Past paper
After you finish the 1st one, move on to the 2nd topic.
Make sure to translate the question and understand what contents you will need to write.
Reading comprehension task: Read a diary and answer the questions.
Writing task: Write sentences based on what you learned from Ch. 4 in the textbook.
Homework: Complete answering all the questions in the worksheet.
The homework is due at the beginning of the class on Apr. 24.
Task: Individual Oral
Topic: It will be either one of the disasters we have studied in class, or other topics which we have studied since the beginning of this school year.
The contents of the exam:
From the 2 photos with a title, you will choose one.
You will speak about one of the topic (photo) you chose for 8 – 10 minutes.
Then you will be asked some questions relevant to your speech.
The maximum time will be 15 minutes, therefore if you over the time, your speech will be cut at 15 minutes.
You will have 15 minutes to prepare for the speech.
You may use outline card with around 10 bullet point (13 maximum bullet points.) You MAY NOT write a full sentence nor you may not read the outline card during your speech.
The summative assessment will be the reading comprehension.
The topics will be the earthquake and typhoons.
Revise the articles about the earth quakes and typhoon, which we studied in class.
The summative assessment on March 19th has been postponed.
The new date will be on Friday, March 22nd.

Summative Assessment (Visual Interpretations)
Task: By looking at the pictures, write down someone’s life style of a day.
Rules:
1) Give a title: ( )くん/さんの 一にち
2) Write down the time of each action.
3) Use the Kanji which you have learned in class. (numbers; 時;)
