Students explore how 4 diatonic chords (I-IV-V-vi) are characteristic of music for over a hundred years as well as how the chords can be used to create bass lines, and verse/chorus structure. Students learn about the construction of triads and their inversions as well as how these are used to create bass lines and melody as a type of chordal harmony. Everyone will take part in composing their own Rock songs using techniques learned during the unit.
