  1. 4N’s Countdown to Grade 5!

    April 24, 2013 by nanwanis

Students had the special opportunity to visit the Grade 5 PYP Exhibition earlier today. We were all very impressed and inspired as the fifth graders shared information about their ‘passions’. From singing, wrestling, camping, history and cooking, to guitar, chocolate, cats, rodents and parkour…the list is inexhaustible!! As we returned from the exhibition, I could hear my Grade 4 students sharing ideas about the passions that they would like to share with the school community next year.

We’re already down to two months of school left for this school year, and the promise of Grade 5 is in the air for our fourth graders. However, there are many exciting school events yet to take place as we speed through April, May and June!

Firstly, we have the Grade 4 and 5 Koto Concert at the Myokoji Temple next Monday, April 29th, from 1.30 to 2.30pm. The children will be performing music they’d learned to play this school year on the classical Japanese string instrument in front of their families. It is likely that on this day we will see many children wearing a kimono or yukata, which is part of the traditional Japanese dress.

Friday, May 3rd, is Sports Day for elementary school students at the YC&AC. Grades 3, 4 and 5 will have their Sports Day in the afternoon.

We will also soon be going on our Grade 4 camp as well! More details to follow about this exciting event.

We look forward to having our 4N families come and see us at both our Concert and Sports Day!
