K-Perfect Poets

I have started reading the children poems that were written by kindergarten children. We discussed them and found that they have a beat or rhythm. We discovered that they need a good ending line. Some of the poems below are inspired by this style. Some poems I wrote down and the children gave me the words. I asked questions like: is that a good beat? Does that end well? I also helped with formatting. This is what they wrote in about twenty minutes. More to come…

These are the two poems we wrote together to get the ideas going.

The Earthquake.

Earth is shaking,

Plates are moving,

Tables fall,

Houses tip,

Tsunami crashes,

Roads break.

Fire!

  1. What wonderful poetry, KP. Perhaps you could share your poems with the children in KC? I’m sure they would love to hear them. Tasha
