Is it natural or man-made?
On Thursday morning, 1S students braved the heat and walked to America-yama park to look for and sketch, natural and man-made things. The students were initially able to easily distinguish between the natural and man-made items they found however, interesting discussion resulted when one student asked, “If someone planted the seed of these plants, would that make them natural or man-made?”
These kinds of deep thinking discussions are sure to continue as we unpack the central idea of our STP unit, People have an impact on the environment.
