This is an exciting development for YIS – grade 9 students will go overseas for their field trip Oct 14th -19th paving the way for a week of service learning- how service is connected to the curriculum and how it can be developed so that the experience is not just a one off but a meaningful opportunity and life changing. The itinerary will include a visit to a Burmese work camp, an orphanage, marine biology, planting of mangroves to name a few. Also three ecosystems will be studied (compared and contrasted): Coral Reef, Rain Forest and Rubber Plantation.This trip will truly provide an experience  of a life time.
